4.	I already own BoatCruiser compatible charts and do not want the additional C-MAP data. Can I purchase BoatCruiser 2.0 without the C-MAP charts? Yes. We understand that some users already have C-MAP charts or another chart format (ex: NOAA ENC) they prefer to use. If you choose to purchase the program without C-MAP charts, you may do so ONLY through our online store.
5.	Does BoatCruiser 2.0 support C-MAP NT+ charts? Yes. If you currently own C-MAP NT+ charts, BoatCruiser 2.0 will display them just as it displays the MAX format.
6.	Does BoatCruiser 2.0 support C-MAP 93 charts? No. BoatCruiser 2.0 does not support CM93 Charts. The CM93 chart format is C-MAP’s equivalent to S-57 and uses a completely different SDK.
7.	Does it matter if I install the C-MAP charts under a particular user name on my computer? The C-MAP charts are username sensitive. If you have multiple users on one PC, ensure that you install the C-MAP charts under the user name where you will be accessing BoatCruiser 2.0.
8.	Why does my BC2.0 package include more than one C-MAP disk? Typically, if you order the North American charts we will provide you with three C-MAP disks (4, 5 and 6). Each disk covers a particular area of North America. Since it is your choice which region to unlock, we provide you with three disks as not to limit you to one area. You will be prompted to use only one of these disks depending on the region you choose to unlock. If you choose to unlock additional C-MAP regions in North America you will already have all disks required and will not need to wait for them to be shipped to you. In order to unlock additional regions please call us at 1-877-726-7779 ext. 34. There will be an additional charge for this unlock code.
9.	How can I view charts other than C-MAP MAX in BoatCruiser 2.0? In order to view charts other than C-MAP you need to switch data modes. This can be done by clicking on View in the top information bar, then choosing Data Source and Other. The data source can be reversed by repeating the same steps.
10.	What types of charts does BoatCruiser 2.0 support? Although BoatCruiser 2.0 comes with C-MAP MAX charts, the program also supports additional chart types including: Maptech, NDI Digital Ocean, NOAA ENC S-57, QV, SoftChart, E-Topo and .NSM.
11.	When I browse for charts, I can’t seem to find the charts I want, or BoatCruiser 2.0 won’t install them. Why not? BoatCruiser 2.0 supports most popular chart formats - please ensure that the charts you are trying to install are compatible with BoatCruiser 2.0 ( See FAQ # 10).
12.	Why can’t I see the charts I have imported in BoatCruiser 2.0? BoatCruiser 2.0 always opens with the World Chart visible and zoomed out. To view your detailed charts please zoom into the desired location until you reach a level of detail that satisfies you. You can also search for the charts required in the NavManager.
13.	What is a .NSM file? A .NSM is NavSim’s proprietary Map/ Chart format, supported by all versions of NavSim software. It is an encrypted stand alone format optimized for display and size.
14.	When my computer boots and my GPS is connected, my mouse jumps around the screen randomly. How can I fix this? This happens because Windows thinks the NMEA data being received is mouse Input and treats your GPS as a serial mouse. The solution is to disable automatic detection of serial mice by editing the boot.ini file in Windows: - Locate your boot.ini file by using Windows search. It is usually located in C: - Make a back-up copy of this file by copying it to a different folder or saving it as a different name in the same folder - Open the file in Notepad.exe or another text editor - For each line under the [operating systems] section, you should add the following text "/NoSerialMice". Don't forget to add the forward slash at the beginning. - Save the file and reboot your computer
15.	My chart appears in the NavManager, but I cannot view it in the quilted map view. Why not? Charts contain different projections. These projections represent how the spherical surface of the earth is mapped to two dimensions. Our quilted MapView uses the Mercator projection to display charts. If a chart uses a projection other than Mercator, BoatCruiser 2.0 does a series of calculations to attempt to transform the chart into the Mercator projection. If this is not possible, the only alternative is to restrict the chart to Single Chart Mode. In order to view a chart in single chart mode, simply right-click on the chart in question on the screen and select "Switch to Single Chart Mode" from the context menu.
16.	Can I install BoatCruiser 2.0 on multiple computers? Yes. We understand that you may need to install BoatCruiser 2.0 on more than one computer. However, when installing on a second computer, you will be prompted to call us in order to receive an activation code. This is simply a security measure and will only take a couple of minutes of your time.
17.	What if my computer crashes or if I get a new PC? It is important to keep the BoatCruiser 2.0 disk and serial number in a safe place in case you have to re-install it. You should have no problem re-installing BoatCruiser 2.0 if your computer crashes but may be required to call our office for an activation code. C-MAP also recognizes that computers can crash and allows for one crash recovery of their charts. Again, keep your C-MAP voucher code in a safe place as you will need to provide this information to C-MAP when recovering your charts.
18.	Why should I register BoatCruiser 2.0? Registering BoatCruiser 2.0 upon installation gives you access to Free online Updates and entitles you to special Upgrade pricing on future releases of BoatCruiser. Knowing your version number also ensures that we can provide you with prompt and targeted technical support whenever you need it.
19.	What is the difference between the first version of BoatCruiser and BoatCruiser2.0? BoatCruiser 2.0 has come a long way since the launch of Version 1.0. The new BoatCruiser is a turn-key solution packaged with the newest C-MAP MAX charts for the region of your choice. We have also added AIS, ARPA/MARPA and Depth Sounder compatibility. While NavSim products are already well known for amazing usability, BoatCruiser 2.0 takes this concept to a whole new level. BoatCruiser 2.0 features a fully customizable user interface allowing you to control the size of the navigation consoles, design the screen layout that suits you best and choose the information that you want to see. In addition, if you are using a C-MAP compatible plotter as your primary navigation device, BoatCruiser 2.0 allows you to pre-plan and transfer routes and markers to/from your PC to your plotter by using a C-Card reader.

Updates are FREE. Please note that you must register your copy of BoatCruiser in order to download updates.
22.	Where can I purchase a copy of BoatCruiser 2.0? BoatCruiser 2.0 can be purchased through NavSim’s dealer network in North America. 23.	Does BoatCruiser 2.0 recognize USB? In most cases, when a USB device is connected to the PC, a virtual serial (COM) port is created. If your devices transmit NMEA 0183 messages over such a link BoatCruiser 2.0 will automatically detect it (make sure you download update patch #2).
24.	What marine devices are supported by BoatCruiser 2.0? BoatCruiser 2.0 has the capability to support multiple marine devices including GPS, AIS, Depth Sounder, Autopilot and ARPA/MARPA. As a general guideline, BC2.0 will support any devices that have NMEA 0183 output. Please check with your manufacturer for this requirement. 8.	What are the little tabs at the bottom of the screen? These are layout tabs. You can alternate between layouts by clicking on the desired tab. Tabs entitled Basic, EnRoute, Fuel, Planning and Quad are default preset layouts that have been created. However you have the option to create your own customized layout and label them as you wish. Please note the layout must be unlocked in order to change the name, Default layout names cannot be changed.
9.	What are ‘layouts’ and why should I be concerned with them? Layouts provide a way to display information panels. You can choose from the default layouts that we have created for you, or you can create your own customized layout – showing only those features that you wish to see.
10.	I see you have different layouts, but I’d like to have my own custom layout. How do I do this?. To create a customized layout, go to “Layout” at the top of the screen, select “Create New”, then choose your desired display options from the drop down box at the top. You can split, resize, import and export layouts to and from other program users. You can also lock the layout once you’ve finished so that you ensure your new layout remains the same.
11.	I've finished creating my own layout. How do I remove the drop down selectors on each cell? Simply go to “Layout”, choose “Manage” then lock the layout by clicking to the immediate left of the layout name you wish to lock. By locking the layout, you remove the drop down selectors. To bring these selectors back just unlock the desired layout.
12.	I see you have split screen support. How do I use it? In order to use the split screen you must create a new layout that with at least two cells. From the drop down selector, select “Chart View Primary” in one cell and “Chart View – Secondary” in the other. (See Question 10 for creating a layout)
13.	What are the arrows drawn in front of my ship? How do they work? The red arrow represents the heading of the ship and the black arrow represents the course of the ship. The arrow location predicts where the ship will be base on the current speed of the ship and the predicted time. The vessel option enables the user to turn on/off the arrows and set predicted time amount.
14.	How do I change the units for depths, distances, speed, etc? You can go to “Tools” and select either “Options” or “All Options” and change the units to whichever you prefer.

There is also support for some USB Garmin devices however some newer USB devices will not work due to a change in the Garmin protocol. Franson produces a product called GpsGate that allows some non-NMEA devices to work with software that only supports the NMEA protocol.
20.	My computer doesn’t have a serial port but my GPS uses a serial cable. Is there a way to connect my GPS to my computer? Yes. You need to purchase a Serial to USB converter. The device will come with drivers that make a virtual com port that NavCruiser PRO can connect to. The documentation for the device or the driver installation should indicate the correct com port and baud rate to use
21.	I have NavCruiser PRO connected to a GPS but I can’t see navigational info such as cross track error (XTE). What am I doing wrong? The route must be activated in order to view this information. To do this, right click on the first waypoint of the route you wish to activate, and click “Activate Route From This Waypoint”.
22.	The gyro device on the ship is showing a decimal value for the heading. Why is the Heading-True cell always showing a 0 for the decimal place when I am connected to the Pilot Plug? The AIS specifications for the true heading value only go from 0 to 359 and don’t allow any decimal places.
23.	What’s the blue ring around my ship? How do I get rid of it? The blue ring is used for “Radar – Parallel Indexing”. You can turn it on/off by going to “Tools”, “Options”, and select “Radar – Parallel Indexing”. From there you can deselect “Show Radar Ring”.
24.	I’m not concerned with ‘Radar – Parallel Indexing’? How do I turn it off? You can turn it on/off by going to “Tools”, “Options” and select “Radar – Parallel Indexing” and uncheck the “Show Radar Ring”.
25.	Why is there a ship drawn on the screen even when I’m not connected to a GPS or AIS? The ship drawn on the screen is a ‘Dead Reckoning Ship’. The purpose of the Dead Reckoning Ship is to show the user where the ship might be if they had loss connection to the GPS or AIS. The user can drag and move this ship around and set the speed and course by going to “Tools”, “Options” then “Vessel”. The Dead Reckoning Ship is disabled by default and you must go to the “Vessel” Option to enable it if you wish to do so.
26.	How do I save and play back my voyage? You can save your voyage by recording the information. There are two ways to start and stop recording a voyage: 1. On the lower right corner of the main window there is a circular button which toggles recording on and off. 2. In the tool bar at the top, go to “Tools”, “Options” and select “Vessel”. There you will find a recording section which gives the user the ability to turn on/off recordings. The playback of a voyage is made available through the Time Machine. The Time Machine is available in the EnRoute layout or you can create your own layout and choose the Time Machine cell. The large clock icon allows you to switch between real time and playback time. After switching to playback time you can move forwards and backwards in time. The purple color diamond and lines represent a recorded track. By double-clicking on the purple color track, the program moves to that time and all the cells are updated with the data that was recorded at the selected time. You can then use the playback controls to replay your voyage. For a more detail description of the Time Machine please reference the Time Machine tutorial located in the “Quick Start Menu”.
27.	How do I see a list of waypoint Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)’s for the active route? Create a layout that contains the ETA List cell. ETA information will show up in this list for the active route only. (See question 10 for creating a layout)

30.	After using NavCruiser PRO with the wireless pilot plug adapter, my internet at home stopped working. What's wrong? The NavSim Network Configuration Utility has changed your IP address to connect to the wireless pilot plug adapter. You need to switch to the 'Home' configuration.

32.	Why should I register NavCruiser PRO? Registering NavCruiser PRO upon installation gives you access to Free online Updates and entitles you to special Upgrade pricing on future releases of NavCruiser PRO. Knowing your version number also ensures that we can provide you with prompt and targeted technical support whenever you need it.
33.	I’ve re-installed NavCruiser PRO and now I am prompted for an activation code. What is this and how do I get one? You will be prompted for an activation code should your computer crash and you need to reinstall your program or if you are installing for the first time without an internet connection. It is important to keep the NavCruiser PRO disk and serial number in a safe place in case you have to re-install it. In order to obtain an activation code, you can contact us either by phone at (709) 726-7779 or via e-mail at support@navsim.com. Please have your hardware ID and serial number on hand. C-MAP also recognizes that computers can crash and allows for one crash recovery of their charts. Again, keep your C-MAP voucher code in a safe place as you will need to provide this information to C-MAP when recovering your charts.
34.	Can I install NavCruiser PRO on multiple computers? Yes. We understand that you may need to install NavCruiser PRO on more than one computer. However, when installing on a second computer, you will be prompted to call us in order to receive an activation code. This is simply a security measure and will only take a couple of minutes of your time.
35.	My chart appears in the NavManager, but I cannot view it in the quilted map view. Why not? Charts contain different projections. These projections represent how the spherical surface of the earth is mapped to two dimensions. Our quilted MapView uses the Mercator projection to display charts. If a chart uses a projection other than Mercator, NavCruiser PRO does a series of calculations to attempt to transform the chart into the Mercator projection. If this is not possible, the only alternative is to restrict the chart to Single Chart Mode.
36.	Why can’t I see the charts I have imported in NavCruiser PRO? NavCruiser PRO always opens with the World Chart visible and zoomed out. To view your detailed charts please zoom into the desired location until you reach a level of detail that satisfies you. You can also search for the charts required in the NavManager.
37.	When I browse for charts, I can’t seem to find the charts I want, or NavCruiser PRO won’t install them. Why not? NavCruiser PRO supports most popular chart formats - please ensure that the charts you are trying to install are compatible with NavCruiser PRO ( See FAQ # 2).
38.	I’m using both C-Map charts and S-57 charts but I can’t see my S-57 charts. What should I do? It appears that you have your C-Map charts selected as your “Primary Data Source”. To switch to your S-57 charts, go to “View” then change primary data source to “Other”. Alternatively you can right click on the screen, choose “Chart Operations” then “Switch to Other Data Source”

40.	What are ‘Primary Data Source’ and ‘Secondary Data Source’? In NavCruiser Pro there are two data sources: C-Map Data Source and Other Data Source. Primary Data Source is used to switch the Data source for the Primary View. Secondary Data Source is used to switch the Data Source for the Secondary View. (See questions 38 & 39 for further details)
41.	What types of charts does NavCruiser PRO support? Although NavCruiser PRO comes with C-MAP MAX charts, the program also supports additional chart types including: Maptech, NDI Digital Ocean, NOAA ENC S-57, QV, SoftChart, E-Topo and .NSM.

Co to jest skala Chomicza i jak ją interpretować?

Opad jest to produkt kondensacji pary wodnej, który w stanie stałym (śnieg, grad) lub ciekłym (deszcz) dociera do powierzchni terenu.
Od opadu należy odróżnić osady - stanowiące również produkt kondensacji - ze względu na odmienny sposób ich formowania.
Opad mierzymy wysokością warstwy wody, jaka powstałaby na terenie gdyby był szczelny, płaski i nie byłoby parowania. Wysokość opadu wyrażamy w mm. Opad wyrażony w mm odnosi się do punktu pomiarowego i jego najbliższego otoczenia. Jeśli pod uwagę bierze się obszar objęty opadem wówczas wygodniej jest posługiwać się objętością opadu, jaka spada na dany teren w jednostce czasu. Mówimy wówczas o wydajności opadu (ale w połączeniu z jednostką czasu na jednostkę powierzchni).

Jeśli na pow. 1 m2 - spadnie deszcz o wysokości 1 mm to objętość wody wyniesie - 1 litr
Jeśli na pow. 1 ha - spadnie deszcz o wysokości 1 mm to objętość wody wyniesie - 10 m3
